A couple of great weddings in June one at the Princess Royale, thanks to our beautiful bride Jessica for putting on such a great party. Also another one at the Carousel hotel in Ocean City, Kelsey looked like a happy bride and I think the party could have gone on for another couple of hours easy.

April brought an event at the Bistro at Bear Trap Dunes. Over 500 tickets sold and about $40K raised for the Family of Pat Muzik. It felt good to be able to donate my services as DJ. Valentines Wedding at Boardwalk Plaza Hotel

I'd like to thank Kathy and Dean and the staff at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel for a great wedding ceremony and reception on Feb 12th 2010. The best man was an off the hook dancer at 91 years old. I mean this guy had the rhythm. Yours truly had the mix that kept folks on the dance floor all night long including a Salsa set. We can do the same thing for your event.

December was rockin' with a Christmas party at the Greene Turtle in Lewes and a big thank you to the Italian American group in Rehoboth for asking me to DJ that event. We provided the music and karaoke at Lighthouse Sound in Bishopville for Atlantic Smith Cropper and Deely and I loved the performance of Young MC's "Bust a Move" by one of the staff members, she really did a great job.

Can't forget our friends at Sussex West again this year, you guys always have a nice event.

New Years Eve we are back at Epworth Church Hall in Rehoboth and expect a big crowd. I'm writing this ahead of time so please remember to come and be ready to get your dance on to roll in 2011! Happy New Year.

This was a ceremony and reception at the Princess Royale in Ocean City and the lucky couple had a big crowd of family and friends. I actually knew some of them from my years working at Clear Channel Radio and also Cat Country. Thanks Meghan for allowing me to be the DJ for your big day. Hello to Joe and Sally it was good to see you. Thanks also to the groom for being a Springsteen fan, I never get to play enough.

Fall 2010

It's been a busy fall season and we been at the Lewes Yacht Club for a very successful wedding. The bride and groom really had the wedding of their dreams. The weather was raining a bit on this September Sunday afternoon but the dance music was hot so noone minded. Thanks Kate.

The Princess Royale was another location where this September wedding had the groom Bubby break out the guitar. This guy could play too. He and his 3 piece band were set up along side yours truly the DJ and did 3 or 4 songs. They played some Voodoo Chile by Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and some Suzie Q by CCR. Well done guys. The folks were ready for some dance classics after that as we kept the party popping. Nice song selections from you guys on the ceremony also. Were heading back to the Princess in October.

Summer '10

It's been a busy summer I haven't had time to visit the blog for a few months. We've done some weddings at the Princess Royale in Ocean City where I'm the house DJ, call Maggie to book your wedding there.

Thanks to Pat for putting on such a great 70th birthday party for her husband at Solaro in Rehoboth Beach. They loved the 50s and 60s but they are not real big Lady GaGa fans as I found out.

Thanks also to the banquet crew at the Carousel for allowing us to be a part of a great family reunion for Lois.

Dave and his family had us out to their place for his daughter's 21st birthday party. Plus the Lifeguard Olympics and Lifeguard ball in Bethany Beach.

August has DJ Sound at the Frankford Fire Hall for Jesse's wedding. After this , my son Cam and I are off to the 2010 DJ Expo in Atlantic City before he heads off to Berklee College in Boston for school.

Laurel Fire Hall

Thanks to Becca for a nicely planned event, from a DJ standpoint it's nice to have a lot of input on the music. We had people on the dance floor all night long, 5 hours. Much of the dance music dipped back to earlier in the decade and the 90s...songs like Still not a playa from Big Punisher and Da Dip from Freak Nasty were fun for this crowd. We also played some nice ballads like Tim McGraw's My best friend and Garth Brooks to make you feel my love.
Laurel Fire Hall has some nice facilities including the mirror ball for that retro feel.

Ocean View party on the Bay

If you've ever thought about having a party there is a great spot in the back of Murray's Haven in Ocean View. You have to get permission to use the Gazebo but it makes for a good time. We had a great May event with a live band and myself as DJ going back and forth. Thanks to Nancy for putting this event together, it was fun!

University of Maryland's Phi Sigma Epsilon's annual get together at the Princess Royale when off without a hitch on December 5th. I want to thanks the guy's in charge for turning me on to some pretty cool Club Music.
I know you guy's didn't want to quit but the song by Kristina Debarge "Goodbye" should have been a hint that we were being asked for the curtain call. This party was so much fun for all!

Started with a tailgate party in the lot and then when the ceremony began, in comes the groom and the groomsmen to the Wanderer by Dion. With Cruisin weekend in full swing , this set the tone for a great evening of fun for a packed house. Lots of 50s and 60s music, some table dancing to Ring my Bell and even a little Beyonce and Outkast for the Myrtle Beach Club.

Never done a reception at the American Legion in Ocean City but this was a good one. 6 hours and fun times and I'd like to thanks the parents of the Bride and groom and Maria for all the musical input. Great music choices and we had people on the floor for over 3 hours straight.

This place was unbelievable, about an acre spread right on the Rehoboth bay. Mostly an older crowd so we were pounding the oldies that day. What a great party and in Dewey, nobody seems to mind if you dance and make music all night long. The pig was awesome too!

This crowd had a great time , in fact the party ended and they were not ready to go home so we played a few more. I'd like to thank our very gracious Parents of the bride for allowing me to be part of the family for a day. I loved the musical choices and I'm pretty sure we played everything.

This was a reception right on the bay at Venus and I really enjoyed Chris's music selection which we played mostly during the cocktail hour and dinner. Groups like Slightly Stupid, RJD2, Can't Hang, Expendables, MGMT, Citizen Cope, Incubus and Lupe Fiasco along with the Stones, Beatles, Police and Billy Joel. For dancing it was the usual fare from our Top 200 list but the party ended with Bride and Groom dancing to Aqueous Transmission , Incubus's summertime anthem. Every wedding is very different and this one was very unique. Many happy years Erin and Chris!

South Bethany right on the canal it couldn't have been any better for a 60th birthday party. The cops only came once and they were very nice, they told me where to set the levels and we had ourselves a party. Good dancers too, Shirley even had a dancefloor.

June Wedding at the Princess

The Princess Royale was the site for a beach wedding and these folks came ready to party. We had the Polka crowd in effect and a whole bunch of Ohio State Buckeye fans, now I learned something here too. I found out that Hang on Sloopy by the McCoys (a 60s song) is the official fan song for the Bucs. As soon as I played that, half the room got up and did this special dance celebration. Other fan favorites included Journey's "Don't stop believin'", Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and Flo-Rida's "Right Round". Good to see my man Sean Rox there too, this time as the minister.

Golden Sands Wedding

High atop the Golden Sands in Ocean City with the ceremony right on the beach. Except for the fog it turned out to be a great event. Loved the way the crowd got into Hava Niguilia and of course the groomsmen had to pick up the bride and groom and carry them around the room. I made sure we did this early before too much libation flowed for obvious reasons. Bride and Groom were gracious hosts and the staff were very nice.

The military was in full effect for this wedding and the funniest thing was later in the evening when the best man did a lap dance for some of the ladies in the audience. The last song was Don't Stop Believin' by Journey and at that point there was no room on the dance floor, so people danced anywhere. The Princess Royale was bubblin' again May 30th for the wedding of Bob and Lauren. A great group that had an awesome time. The ceremony was at Cafe on the Green and although it was a bit cool, everyone stuck around for the party outside before heading to the ballroom for the reception. The reception was off the hook and even went an additional hour.

Ocean Club in Ocean City

3 nights in a row at the Ocean Club working with the house band New Censation was really fun, I hope to do it again soon. I was called in because DJ Batman couldn't be there. These folks really know how to party especially Maryland's Distinguished Principals group who danced the night away. I want to thank Sean at Rox Entertainment for the dates.

This was a very nice ceremony because it was original. The bride and groom utilized DJ Sound's outside set up and because it was informal it was very enjoyable. The bride walked in to Can't help fallin' in Love by UB40. Reception rocked until midnight and this crowd couldn't get enough Southern Fried Rock. Of course I had to slip in some Black Eyed Peas and Flo-Rida also. The Princess Royale had to cut it off at midnight though because I guess someone in the hotal wanted to sleep.

Mariners Bethel Church Couples Party

This was a fun party where couples reconnected and had a night out without their kids. We had a dance instructor teach the couples how to grace the floor. We also rolled out the Dating Game which was a nice addition and a lot of fun.

River Soccer Club - Annual Chicken Picking

This event had over 200 people as we bumped the tunes while "The Cosmos" was honored. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've DJed this and it just gets better all the time.

Thanks to Coach Kilby for rockin' the mic and doing his own version of the Stanky Leg. This a great event if you like the silent auctions and 50/50 drawings. See you next year. If anyone has any good video clips of the Cosmos, please upload them to this blog

Merry Christmas to Sussex West

What great folks at the Sussex West Community west of Lewes. We had a full house for the dinner and then the dancers showed up. People were live and in effect all night, it was like a fun family event. Thanks to nurse Shirley for bringing the DJ back this year and a happy new year to all.

Another superb wedding at the Princess Royale in Ocean City, the host, Maggie had her hands full that day because there were 700 military in the building that day and their party was downstairs. Thanks to Michelle and Mike for allowing me to get that crowd moving, there were times when the dance floor was completely full but that was ok because we made room for everyone even if you had to dance on the carpet.
My son Cameron even helped me this week as he is also an aspiring DJ. He already has a DJ name picked out ...DJ Croe.

Atlantic Hotel

I never realized what a nice little place the Atlantic hotel in Berlin was until I did this October wedding. Nice couple from Ocean View. The highlight of the evening came by surprise at the end of the night because this was only three hours. A guy named Joe grabbed the mic and sang along with Chuck Berry's Johnny B Goode....wow he was awesome! We also got this group up for some Polkas and I especially liked the grooms lite rock acoustic music selection....if you've never checked out the soundtrack of PS I love You, you should there are some good songs on it.

October 08 -This reception was a truly great one and I'd like to thank Tom, Mike and Christina for being such wonderful hosts. Even though the weather wasn't very nice we were able to move the ceremony inside and still had a beautiful view of the bay. Lighthouse Sound has great food and a very nice staff. I was sure glad that we could play such a wide variety of music just wish more people would have done the swing to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Shout, however, really made up for that because we had everybody up.

Nassau Valley Vineyards

I'd like to thank the whole crew at Nassau Valley Vineyards for helping make Glenn and Joni's wedding a big success. As the DJ I was set up outside with the cocktail bar while everyone had dinner inside. We were able to set up speakers inside and tap into the main system so that music and toasts could be heard both inside and outside. Before long though we had everybody outside under the tent dancing and having fun. Many people have never thought about having their wedding reception at a Vineyard but it was really nice.
